[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Summer is setting, autumn is coming.
I just had the most extreme rainshower this year.
It's really nothing bad, we needed some rain anyway.
But the sudden downpoar and the drop in temperature is the surest sign that summer is nearing it's end.
So why not share some more of the beautiful sunsets we have had in Norway this year.
This summer has been the best I have ever experienced, almost too good to be true. I just wonder if we'll have similar conditions next year, acording to my dear old mother we are about to enter a climatic change. That might be so, I have little to compare with, but my mother insists that winters were colder and summers were hotter when she was young.
As far as we all know, climatic change is a natural effect in nature. As long as it goes as it is supposed too and we don't meddle with it with too much global heating and greenhouse gasses I'm pretty sure things will be alright.
The polar icecaps have shifted before, maybe they will do so again?

Photo was taken up on a hill not far from my house.
Iso was set to 800 to capture more of the light and colour.

I hope my global weather forecast doesn't offend or scare anyone, but that is just the way it is.
Nature finds a way...

The colours here are beautiful, and I like how you've allowed the sky to dominate the frame to such a large extent. I think moving forward to include less of the dark foreground and more of the sea would have made this even better.
Good work though.
Cheers,
Ben

Hi Odd,

if you are going to give this much room to your skies, better make sure they are exciting. And this is the case here. A lot of room for a very colorful, dramatic sky.

I like how you gave the sky more space on your canvas. Good view and colors.

Hei O.J.

Very nice scene, I really like these warm colors. Very nice color play in the clouds. TFS.

Hi jorgensen.
very good pic.beautiful composition.great lights.dark is excellent.

Congratulations

Hi Odd Jarle,
There's something about a thunderstorm that makes the most fantastic sunset. The color you have captureed is just beautiful. I was just reading an article that cjmm sent me that says with digital it's better to overexpose than underexpose: and here I'd been going on the belief that it was better to underexpose. Clearly your getting as much light as possible gave you wonderful color. I also like the photo with a noise reduction filter applied but graininess has its own attraction, particularly in brightly colored skies.

You were concerned that your ideas about globsal warming might offend, but I'm not sure I can figure out your views on this subject. I have very strong views on the subject; I believe that it is really important that we each do as much as possible to minimize energy consumption. I recently saw Al Gore's, 'An Inconvenient Truth.' He said that 40% of the world depends on glaciers for water. Another article predicted that the glaciers of the Alps would be gone by 2100. Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now : )
Regards, Pat

Hi Odd. Wonderful assortment of colours and shapes in this sky. A lot of drama compared to the uniformly coloured sea and dark land. Well done. Regards. Klaudio
