Finally my new Canon EOS 350D has been put to use!
I bought this camera on the 21st of June, this was my first decent photo with it.

Photo was taken just outside my house when I was arriving home from work, time is approx 11.30 in the evening. This just a clouded evening so you can imagine how much light there was on a regular on a cloudless evening.
As I was saying, I had just arrived home from work and this digger just happened to be standing on standing on top of a small moud some 50 meters from my house.

The digger is owned by a local entrepeneur called T.Stangeland, I may also add that he is the biggest tax payer in Sola Kommune.
How many millions he is good for is unknown, but he deserves it.
The company from scratch just after the war and they made their first income taking panser steel from old German tanks and made bulldozers.
The company has grown ever since, how many they emply now I am not aware of, but I'm sure it's well over 1000 employees.
The reason for his success is further established if you consider that almost every large building assignment in the area has been performed by his company.

Enjoy.

Hi,
I realy like this photo... The dark siluets and beautiful colors... It's a great contrast between beautiful skies and the brutal excavator... I love it...
Regards,
Janis Rocans

Nice colors !

This picture is an original mix between the hard excavator and the cotton sky.

Hello Odd!
You did great work!
the contrast between dark object and colourful sky are impressive. And I also like the atomsphere this picture has.

Hi Odd Jarle,

Jean-Pierre

'Twas the eve before diging, and all was quiet. Not a creature was stirring, not even the "Catepillar"....

Nice photo O.J. I really like the colors and the silhuette of the maskine is not what one usually thinks of in such photos. Very nice work. TFS.

Hi Odd Jarle,
I really like this photo. The machine silhouetted against the stunning is sky is unique. Your note is also very interesting, making this good TE learning. Pretti good turning swords into plowshares. What were they about to build?
Regards, Pat

Hi Odd,

I like industrial kind of photos and this one is especially appealing due to its mixture between a very romantic sunrise and the silhuette of the excavator - which is a bit less romantic, but attractive n a different way.

Cheers!

Hi Odd,
Congratulations on your new camera. If this picture is any indication, your new toy will give more reasons to celebrate. Superb colours, great silhoutte.

Very good construction ! Usually, a digger is not the most esthetic thing to photography, but in the way you show it to us, it's successful.

Awesome, Odd!

Great shot, almost unrreal! Your new Canon 350D begun to pay off! :D

Colors are amazing, the clouds themselves are magical. Soooo quiet!

The silouetthe is strong. Not many times you can see a digger with such treatment!

Very well seen!

Hola Odd Jarle...this is a very graphic & strong compo with those lovely sillouthes against that strong & captivating sky...Muy Bueno !
Saludos Robert

Hello Odd
The resting silhouette of this digger calls for the end of the day. The operator is likely at home for the supper. He'll come back tomorrow. Hope he will not touch the little tree.
Happy Holidays
Pierre
