Photographer’s Note
November Morning
I was thinking: Is it worth posting this photo with the frozen fields and the old farm in the back...
Haven't the most seen loads of such moments?
Of course they have - and of course there is not much to learn of the world with this simple setting and compo.
But then I thought why not? Ice and snow on the ground in the beginning of November - not to be found everywhere...
Anyway for me a good moment of yesterday - taking a little walk outside my village ...
Have a fine day ;-)

Hallo Jack!
A very interesting picture. The contrast between the hoarfrost with its sharp structures in the foreground and the warm light and these blurred massive buildings in the background is stunning here. Even in the small version it's a real eyecatcher!
Greetings from grey and hazy Germany!

Every eye sees it different, Jack! There is no double photo! I really like it and it feels ice cold to see the snow on the field and I really like how you composed the situation with the "rolling" field and the village in the back. I love your natural approach. What I learn from this one? That we have to take care of our landscape. In Switzerland sooner or later all the fields will disappear and what remains are fields of houses with no connection to nature ... if we do not watch out, and I speak the truth. Well done, wonderful mood ... Barbara.

Great shot! I like the unusual perspective here, with the long lens showing us a close in view of the snow covered field and the buildings in the background at the same time. The texture of the field is incredible too, and adds a lot to the shot. Well done!

Hola Lack.
Wonderful composition, a great winter scene with the snow covering the crop on the field and the wooden houses in the back, it's never to late to post in TE a winter scene especially like this one on the beginning of November. Very well captured.
Well done.
Best regards from Dominican Republic on a sunny day and our temperature in 80 degrees F.

salut jack
je vois que la neige est arrivé chez toi, un champs coupé avant l'hiver ou l'on voit bien les herbes rasées, fond bien flouté qui laisse deviner la ferme en arrier plan

Nice shot Jack;
This one caught my eye right from the thumbnail, however I started to grumble as the image loaded 'Awe... it's blurry' but I was pleasantly surprised as the full image came to light and I could see the sharp forground. A lovely image Jack- congrats!

Hi Jack,
A very wintery image and I can just sense and hear the crunch of the snow underfoot. I like your perspective but being one that really likes sharpness and clarity, I am a bit surprised by your choise of using a fairly shallow depth of field. Nice idea and TFS. Gerald

Hello again Jack.
Beautiful atmosphere you achieved with this shot. I just LOVE blurred backround and so lovable, strognly defined "plants" at the front. And to be honest, I can't wait snow! :-)
TFS!
Sincerely,
David

Not bad this blurred background in this shot of the first november snow. The field looks like a brush.

Hi Jack,
Early snow bringing light to grey autumn.
Short DoF gives good attention to the field. I like division of frame to three zones.
Bokeh of the background doesn't seem so softly blurred, it has sort of 'shaken' appearance. I guess it's a feature of that lens?

Hi Jack. I love your blue snow and the crispy clear foreground. However the barns in the background seemed to be blurred not due to DOF but camera shake- they seem not really out of focus but they have a ghost or a double. I can't see how it would happen with a shutter of 1/640. I am totally confused about your settings.
How do you like the D90? I am borrowing a D80 at the moment and trying to figure out all the menus. Seems a little more complex than my daughter's Canon Rebel XTi.

Hi, Jack. A nice winter landscape with the field looking like a giant broom. I like the texture of the cut hay. This is a very good foreground. The DOF is rather shallow here and maybe I would have seen a longer one better here, but your option has its charm too.
Have a nice evening,
Philippe

Hi Jack
Un joli tapis de neige chez toi, quel chance
Une belle netteté de ce champs sous la neige avec un flou intéressant des bâtiments et de lumiére
Have a nice day for you

Hello, Jack!
Fantastic view for a winter coming up! I like this low point of view, which brings a lot of details to the foreground. Nice play with depth of field.

Bonjour Jack,
Best regards from the land of the rain.
Daniel.
