Photographer’s Note
..and then there was light
We had the other day a strong gale along the coast. So I decided to go out to the sea already at 05.30 in the morning to get a fresh photo of the rough October weather.
My nearest opportunity is the outer Oslofjord, app. 100 km from where I live - and then a small hike of some 45 minutes to face the open ocean.
With gale, rain and hail not the best conditions for the camera - neither for my GoreTex cloths - wet right to the skin. But very FUN asking me. I had the tripod with me and it had to be kept very firm to the ground to not blow away. What a morning.
At the moment for this photo I was in shelter behind a wall of a closed summer house – wind and rain whipping behind me. Looking at my side I could see the little gap in the clouds and the devine light shining down to the small islands directly to some electric poles out there. Alone in close encounter with the nature it feels special to meet such moments.
For more from this morning - there is a photo set right here >>

Nice ray of light for what otherwise looks to be a cold and wet morning Jack.
The eye is led towards the ray of light, yet you almost feel restrained as you have the body of water blocking your way. Makes for an interesting shot.
All the best,
- Dan

Hi Jack.
What a great "eye" hehehehee. Excellent. That ray of light is excellent. Only needs a person there and "oh God is here!"

Bonjour, mon ami Jack,
La lumière symbole de la vie, de l'intelligence, du progrès, elle nous est indispensable. La lumière dévoile ses multiples clartés dans cette très belle composition.
Je suis sous le charme.
Amitiés.

Hello Jack,
What a lot of effort to get this photo. I am quite impressed. The light coming through the dark clouds is astonishing and the uproar among the elements is clearly visible.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Jack,

Hi Jack,
That tiny opening on the clouds is well spotted. It always gives good feeling when I see such myself. Seaside on a windy and cloudy day, we share the theme today.

Nice and moody take, Jack, well worth the labor and bad-weather exposure that you describe in your notes. The result is dramatic and delivers a fine rendition of the special light setting. Well contrasted presentation of the rugged scenery.

Hello Jack,
I love this shot with the shaft of light breaking through the clouds, and the rough sea and terrain below. It could be an iconic figure in those board rooms where they put up inspirational photographs endorsing cooperation, and teamwork. But his light is for more inspiring than anything I've seen, and I am not even religious.
Warm regards, Jack.

It i really a divine light! Fantastic atmosphere in this photo. i like that the sun breakes through the heavy clouds and lightens the foreground. Pretty landscape!
