Hi Jack,

This is a lovely shot from the first day of the new year, and we are now a month-and-a half into the new year. It is a well conceived photograph, with excellent light management. The composition and perspective are more elegant than simple. The drooping branch next to the sun has a parabolic shape. I am glad you resisted putting the sun symmetrically in that parabola. On the ship last summer I put the sun in a similar circumstances right in the center of a circle, and I think it is gimmicky. I have not posted it, but take a look.
