[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The new opera house in Oslo shows a spectacular architecture. The outer surfaces are built with white marble and the walls and roofs are combined. You can actually walk up to the top roof on slopes that bring your thoughts to a giant place for downhill skiing.

When we were there, it was clear sunshine and you really needed sunglasses to protect your eyes or you nearly got snow blind. There were of course signs prohibiting bicycles and skateboards on the slopes. I can just imagine what it will be like in wintertime, when snow will cover everything; a perfect place for a slalom competition!

You can also see another photo here.

There are plenty of motives for photographers and I was walking around looking for something interesting when I saw this totally unknown man, sitting in the sun with a perfect “red detail”

hej Gunnar
I really have to say this building is delicate and gives a lot of opportunity to take exciting images, Good of you to se whats in the picture are obvius but in reality not that easy to see " the red against the blue and white as the norwegian flag.

Hej Gunnar,
Ja, sannerligen, de norska färgerna! Mycket fint komponerad bild med vacker arkitektur, mänsklig närvaro och inte minst, en röd detalj.

Hello Gunnar,

An almost abstract composition with all these very strong diagonals. I particularly like the way that the border between the blue shadow and the bright sunlight "cuts through" the red pushchair.

The great contrasts of light and shade have been handled very well, and the red, white, blue and black which make up the composition give great strength to the image.

Even the shadow of the pushchair links exactly with the man's tucked under foot.

One of your best!

Regards,

Peter.

Hallo Gunnar!
An exceptional building and photo as well. It nearly looks somehow surreal and the effect of this slope and the mirroring facade is breathtaking. According to your note the opera house seems to be something like a small landscape ... very interesting!
Greetings from sunny Westphalia!

Hi Gunnar! The perfect prospect is here! It impresses your subject. And for the composition and for the choice of frame. Red leaves important interest. Amazing the building in the background has good place in your picture, Beautiful history.

Georgios

Hello Gunnar. Stunning shot of this opera house with the reflection of the light and shadow. The man and the red stroller adds the human touch to the perspective and well done. Regards. Jusni

Hej Gunnar,
very smart image taken along this building and a lovely balancing of lights and shades. I like the attractive and interesting graphism and the contrast of colours: details and texture are spectacular. Clarity is superb. Bravo.
Regards.

Hej Gunnar,
A rather different picture from your camera. A fine composition with opposing diagonal lines and three sections of varying kinds of blue (bordering to slightly overexposed white in the foreground, but never mind). The man and the red pram are perfectly placed and there are also some very interesting reflections of architecture on the glass wall.
Quite elegant!

hello Gunnar,
an excellent graphical image. I like its stylish lines and angles and slapsh of red. I read and agreed with Peter's (graffer) well thought out critique.
I have tucked this one in my favourites as my two most favourite genres are people shots and graphical images and is a combination.

Bev

Hi Gunnar,
Very nice scene with excellent light and great colours, especially the blue.
Thanks for sharing this image.

Hi Gunnar
I've been wanting to return to Oslo for many years now, my last visit being in 1991. Anyway, seeing photos of this building is inspiring me even more. I like how you've got the man and the pusher in the sun as well as the reflections. Excellent sharpness and saturation.
What's good as well is that it shows how in Norway, it's often the men who look after the kids.
Regards
Nikki
