Photographer’s Note

A little break from my travelouge to the fjords with this photo.

Another lake in the middle of my town: Oslo. On the west side this time,the lake Sogsvatn, very popular for a Sunday walk.

On the other side you see a family on this fine Sunday in October. Lot of activities: Fishing, preparing food, picking small branches for a little fire etc.

I've got a feeling I've seen this lake before, great light and PoV catching the autumn colours in reflection.

Hi Jack, there is no real point to focus on here, the fishers are too far way for that but the strength of the photo is elsewhere, in the superb fall colors and the nice reflection of the trees in the water.

I will not be constructive with my critic, because it's just the wonderful landscape that I like.
It's perfectly catched here, and I appreciate the characters to give an idea of the imposing scale.

Beautiful catch, Jack. The seasonal foliage colors and the autumn light are very well captured in this delightful scene that is given an almost poetic touch with the grand reflection. The people on the shore are a nice addition. Very good, all done right on this one.

I have been missing out on a lot of your great photos lately, I have some catching up to do :)
This one is beautiful. Nice, simple composition, the family makes a great focus point, espescially the person in the red jacket.
Beautiful, natural, warm autumn colours. Wonderful reflection in the lake.
Nice light and contrasts. Looks like a peaceful place for a walk or a picnic. Nicely captured.

Nice automnal view, where the reflection has different colours... have you make a correction of the colour on the water side? If no, you have seen something very beatiful. Thanks to share it.

Great colours. I think it's almost perfect: just to say, maybe you could have chosen a larger field in order to put the horizon exactly in the middle of the frame, to enhance the refelction effect. Maybe I would also rotate the frame for a zeropoint ccw, and then crop out the foreground leaf on the right, or put it decisely into the frame to create a DOF.

A textbook example, Jack! ;-)) Fantastic light and water reflections, together with the lovely textures of trees and lake surface. The tiny figures of people add life to it whithout being dominating in the magic scenery. Excellent job again, Jack!

Lovely colours and reflections, the deep colours of the lake are fantastic, tiny poeple enjoying themselves are quite a link between the nature and us.

I love this autumn lakeside reflection Jack. Warm with green and yellow and a quiet scene by the lake, in autumn. Except I'm not too sure about the leaves on the right side of this photo Jack. Too little to be of a frame and almost insignificant to add anything. What do you think Jack, maybe we could cloned it off don't you think?

I have just discovered this photo of magnificent autumn. Colours are magnificent and the reflections colored in this water almost black frissonnante are of a good beauty. The persons add and complete the set. Great shot!

Je viens de découvrir cette photo d'automne magnifique. Les couleurs sont superbes et les reflets colorés dans cette eau frissonnante presque noire sont d'une grande beauté. Les personnages ajoutent et complètent l'ensemble. Bien fait.
