Photographer’s Note
The Vigeland Sculpture Park in Oslo is a large outdoor exposition of the works of Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943), a famous Norwegian scluptor. There are hundreds of statues spread over a large area, most of which show naked human figures in unusual poses.
I am not completely sure what this statue is supposed to represent. Is the man dancing or fighting with the babies? Maybe it is a metaphor for someone trying to accept his role as a new father and figure out what it means to him.
As for the photo, I actually did very little post-processing on it other than minor editing. It was taken late at night in winter, in a park with very few lights around (hence the background darkness), and the statue itself is a shiny dark black metal colour, so with the use of a flash, this effect was essentially achieved naturally.
