Old farm in blue & white
In December the sun is setting early up in my valley. Already at 2 pm the light is low and the day is starting to end. Up here we have already plenty of snow even with an altitude no more than 850 meter.
In the little valley there are lots of holiday homes - all empty this low season of the year. But at the old farm with the tilted barn a little family of the valley is still in place, some few of the no more than app. 80 persons who live up here in the low mountains the whole year.

A superb winterscape with subtle colour & splendid sharpness & linear perspective provided by the lead in lines of the snowclad road. Wonderful lighting, that reveals the texture in the fg snow. Tfs!

Très belle lumière et scène fantastique avec ce ciel lumineux.
Les maisons sont bien plaçées dans l'image et le traitement est très bien réalisé.
Les couleurs pastels sont bien rendues et la scène bien exposée !

Fantastic picture. The colors are great in this shot...the blue of the sky, the wood of the homes. The composition is great. I guess you could have filled the shot just with the 2 homes but decided to include some trees on the right instead. Works really well.

Lovely typical Norwegian winter scene. The cool light is very pretty. I like the way the tracks in the snow lead up to charming house, adding depth.

Hi, Jack. Well, I think you must be very courageous to live in such a place all year round. The snow and the sky allow the two buildings to stand out very well. The old barn is very well palced in the composition and the trees around it frame it very well. An interesting northern light.

Hello Jack,

In this beautifully composed shot, you've accentuated the "already setting sun" of the early afternoon. Your note give real meaning to the expression, "Northern hinterland." Diametrically opposite this in season, I remember taking a photograph of the clock on the deck of the ship, the Royal Viking Queen, at midnight and still light out. We were at the North Cape.

Hej Jack,
I have to admit that I envy you a lot.
Snow, snow and snow
10 days before christmas and I'm thinking about cutting the lawn for last time this year.. and it's in Sweden,
you'v really find that special low december light with a lot of yellows and blues in it and matched it up well with the blue stroke (which I normally aren't that friend of)theres allso some nice pinkish tones in the snow that gives it a nice volume.
