Photographer’s Note

Nothing like making your own tracks in the new fallen snow - that is if you like cross country skiing in the virgin landscape with fresh snow up north.
Another motif from the little valley Tisleidalen - one of the most photographed at Te :-)

Starting tomorrow from South of France to meet with some TE friends in Luxembourg and spend a day together at Saturday. All organized by our friend John Mortier. Presently we are 4 participants and of course any TrekEarther is most welcome - there must be plenty of you around not too far from Luxembourg...

I still have memories of cross-country skiing in snow like this at -20°C at Alvdal. I like how the skis are so deep in the snow with just the points sticking out, the way the snow is shining and the bright starry sun.

Very good effect in this counterlight shot, Jack. Nice idea to have your own skiers protrude from the snow in the foreground, and good rendering of the bright sun and its reflections on the icy crystals of the snow pack. Enjoy the small TE meeting!

If only we had deep, fresh snow like that here! The low pov and positioning into the sun makes a real feature of the glittering snow and its lovely texture, and you got a nice starry effect from the sun.

Aucune trace à l'horizon, voilà un endroit ou j'aimerais bien aller me ballader.
La neige est peut être un peu sombre, mais avec ce soleil en face, pas facile d'ajuster la balance des blancs.
