Another view from Alnes lighthouse as a song from Pink Martini's "Splendor in the Grass".

Alnes is a small village on Godøya island in the municipality of Giske in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The islands of Giske have unspoiled scenery with beautiful fishing villages, white sandy beaches. Today new bridges and sub sea tunnels link the islands together. 6600 islanders can also reach the mainland and the town centre of Alesund through these tunnels. The predominant feature of the village is the Alnes lighthouse which was established in 1876 to guide fishing boats safely to the harbor of the small fishing community of Alnes. The lighthouse is still in operation with a few modifications. It also houses an art gallery and a small historical museum. The galley and the tower are open for tourists from May through October, and the old keeper's house has a café and an exhibition hall where artwork from local artists are displayed. There is also a small historical museum inside the lighthouse tower.)

This is a fine capture of this interesting lighthouse. The green lawn and the red on the lighthouse provides a nice contrast to the white and blue. Interesting to read your note, I`ve never been here. A lovely composition. Great job! TFS. Enjoy your Sunday.
