Photographer's Note
Bergensbanen crossing the Hardangervidda, app. 1200 metes above sea level. The photo is taken during a trip on the Rallarvegen (Rallar road) by bike.
Rallarvegen is the construction road that was built for the railway project "Bergensbanen" in the beginning of the 19th century.
The building of the railway was a big challenge. It had to go through unhostile territory far beyond sea level, in a region with no roads and, in wintertime, huge amounts of snow.
The railway was finished in 1909.
In the beginning of 1900th century more than 200 men worked on the railway road. Rallar was their nickname.

Hi Merete,
I like this scene a lot. I can feel the fog on my face looking at it. Myself, I'm planning a motortrip for next summer wich will take me trough this region... The picture gives me the 'I wanna be there (already)' feeling. Nice shot, I like the black top and bottom. It helps to bring the train in front. TFS.

Hello Merete! I like this capture, it would be a very nice landscape image itself without the unexpected train. The train definitely adds interest and nice contrast in the scene. One small suggestion would be that since the image has a lot of darker tones, I would suggest maybe a white frame to give it a brighter appearance.
Thanks for sharing!
Regards,
Doug

I like the contrast between the bright red color of the train and the earth tones of the environment. The photo has a lot going for it: the train, beautiful creek, bridge and even the low clouds, all contribute to make this an interesting composition.

Hi Merete,
Beautiful scenery. And good contrasts despite the cloudy weather. Well chosen POV. And the red train shows so brilliantly against green background. I wonder if it would be better if you had caught either end of the train.

Beautiful POV, makes me proud to have had a great grandfather who once was a "rallar". He even helped build "Sørlandsbanen".
The view is nice, great use of colour and the small patch of cloud adds a nice reminder of what weather might be like up here.
You could maybe have avoided cutting the train, but it doesn't really matter as the photo looks nice anyway.
