Autumn afternoon at Fedje II, a photo from Hordaland, South

Photographer's Note

Some months ago I posted a photo with the same title as this one. This is a close-up of the scene shot from slightly a different angle so that I got the reflctions of the church incorporated in the composition.

Fishing has always been an important industry on this island in the sea west of Bergen. The municipality is the second smallest in terms of population in the county of Hordaland. Around 600 residents live there now. You can watch a wider view here: Autumn afternoon at Fedje

This is definitely a picturesque place in Norway. The red houses and white boats and their reflections are so beautiful.

Hello Erling,
The vivid red wood makes the facades of the houses firm eye-catchers and contrasts well with the brown rocks and the white boats.
I like that reflected church tower in the water while we don't see the real building on top.

I love this shot! What amazing colors you managed to achieve! The warm afternoon light makes them even more rich and deep. Wonderful contrast and sharpness.
The whole composition seems to be carefully planned and the reflection on the water definietly contributes to the whole scene.

Any photo with small boats in it is automatically good. I think that's one of the basic rules of photography.

Excellent warm colors and the water is almost perfectly still for your mirror images.

questa tua foto è stupenda per il soggetto ripreso, ma anche per l'ottima composizione che ne hai saputo farericca di colore e di riflessi da sogno.
Mi piace molto la chiesa sulla sinistra che appare solo nel riflesso andando a completare un ottimo scorcio .
Eccellente, come tuo solito, la luminosità e la nitidezza, ai massimi livelli.

even if the word "beautiful" seems to be abused in most critiques-I can´t help it,but it´s really the first word coming to my mind to describe the view we can see on your photo.Close-up suits well to this scene.I enjoy especially this tranquil,pleasant mood you captured so well.Lovely composition with so nice red,wooden houses and the boats.Reflections are additional bonus for us.I think fishing has never looked so romantic as in your magnificent shot.You have really some unique corners to discover around Bergen.

A really classic Norwegian scene, Erling, with the signature red coastal houses on rocky shores, and a fishing boat in beautiful light. I like that the shot allows a view of more of the town in reflection only - the church, for example, can only be seen in the water. It adds interesting depth to the shot. Thanks!
