We tried to go up Bergen's famous funicular to Mt Floyen on Sunday but an excess of cruise ships were in town and the queues stretched for 200 metres. We went up early yesterday and beat the crowds.
It was cloudy but the air was clear once we reached the top. A walk followed to a nearby lake where the water was calm for good reflections but low clouds were rolling into the trees and half way around the lake it started to rain - end of reflections.
When we got back to the lookout it was a white out and raining steadily. The poor tour groups who had started coming up were trapped in the souvenir shop. Lucky shop keepers!

Well Ian you managed to get to this beautiful scenery before the crowds and what a super atmosphere you captured here. So much more evocative than a sunny day; the mist and the stillness on the water combined with the fir trees tell us much about the prevailing climate - I like that.
A fine shot.

I was actually having a long rest by that lake on sunday and I saw a photographer on that exact spot where you took this picture. For a sec I was wondering "hmm could that be the guy from TE?". Apparently not, but how funny you would post a picture from exactly that spot the day after! It's a great picture and I especially like the reflections. Peaceful.

You managed to get your shot just before the rain; I can see the impending cloud descending the mountain!
You have a wonderful mixture of green hues and, what I really love about this shot, is the clarity of the reflections. The water is so still it is like a mirror. Even the mist is reflected!
Have a lovely day,
