Winter morning at Bryggen 2, a photo from Hordaland, South

Photographer's Note

Not long ago, I uploaded a picture showing the inner parts of Bryggen. That was a winterphoto captured in January 2012. This photo was captured a calm Sunday morning in February this year. I know that it might surprise some foreginers that there are almost no snow. Normally there is a good chance of getting snow in Bergen during February, but not so this year. We have had quite low temperatures between -5 and +3 degrees celcius, but still just a thin layer of snow, and mostly in the surrounding mountains.

Hello Erling,
If you like snow, we got snow here today. Very exceptional for the month of March.
The sea must have been very calm then. The reflections look perfect.
I like the alternation of colours of the facades and their warm tones and also the white facades contrast well with the dark blue water.

Truly marvelous photo Erling!
it´s like the real scene would meet something unreal,something imagined.And this is really eye-catching!Reflections in their purest and most attractive form.What can I say more-I think only that the old and so lovely architecture of Bergen and its mountainus background constitute magnificent subject for the reflections.And in the end I couldn´t leave unsaid th eatmosphere of the scene-tranquil,quiet and so pleasant.Superbly composed image!It was worth waiting so long for your next post!

Hello Erling,

Scenes like this make me regret not visiting Norway on my one and only Scandinavia trip. The long view here, with all of these houses lined up so perfectly and reflected beautifully in the still water, is exactly what I picture. The reflection itself is well used too - the mountain ridge is visible here below, but not above. Well composed and shot - thanks!

Detta måste ha varit en mycket ovanlig dag, med sådan perfekt stiltje. Havet kunde inte ha varit mer spegelblankt, här får man de mycket vackra byggnaderna i dubbel uppsättning. En mycket vacker bild!

There are undoubtedly many things to like about this photo, but it's the sense of calm that strikes me the most. Those small windows of opportunity before the day really gets under way are some of the most attractive and peaceful moments, and you have captured that essence splendidly. Bergen è il tuo soggetto preferito e lo sai rappresentare nella migliore delle maniere come in questa foto nella quale il colore gioca un ruolo fondamentale insieme ad una luce splendida che dona una lucentezza incredibile alle case che si riflettono nel fiordo.
Una nitidezza di tutto rispetto ed un contrasto appropriato hanno completato la tua opera che ha saputo unire molto bene la bellezza della natura con la capacità tecnica.

Its smart to leave out the blue skyline at the top too.
lovely mirrored image of these crooked houses.
Behind the colorful row houses in the front I see a large building with a triangular brown rooftop...what is that out of curiosity?
