Waiting for Snow Photo

Photographer’s Note

As we have only snow beginning at a height of 400m and I'm living on about 140m, I had to look to my archive for some snow.

Drevsjø is a village in Engerdal municipality, Norway. Our husky tour begins near the villageand travels through a landscape that lies at 650 meters over sea level. With our sledges, each with 6 huskies, we cross lakes and tour through the hills and forest around Drevsjö.

A minimalist composition but very effective of the this snow covered landscape relieved only by the trees dotted around. Interesting sky with the clouds seemingly rising from the ground. Thanks for sharing.

Hallo Achim,
Excellent work with the scanner. If you had not told us about it, I would not have noticed. It is not easy to get the focus properly with almost all the landscape white like that, it reflects the sunlight erratically and too intensely. And you got it.

1997?! Wow, that's a very good photo with more than 10years. I love baobab trees, but there's something in this snowy view that attracts me very much. The emptyness of this FG is fantastic. The silence, the minimalism, a zen mood that makes my taste.

A very nice and very impressive landscape of the North of Europa. A nice composition very simple but very well balanced. The white color is very well collected, beautiful contrasts too.

oh, freundlich würde ich die Landschaft nicht nennen, besonders, wenn ich die dunklen Wolken betrachte. Mit den Hunden auf einem früheren Bild sah es eindeutlich angenehmer aus. Tja, wenn aber unbedingt Schnee auf dem Foto sein muss...
