Is this sunset or sunrise? In this area of the Norwegian North Sea it’s neither or both depending on how you look at it. One thing is sure, the "land of the midnight sun" provides us with some spectacular skies!
This shot was taken at half past midnight in the Kristin oilfield in early July, it’s a little grainy as the light was low despite the sunshine. The field is actually a ways off the coast of Trondlag, the Lat 65 00 Lon 07 00 position is actually a lot closer.
The only processing used was a rotate & crop to straighten the horizon. |

This is an attractive composition with a striking simplicity!
The fine veil of clouds is well lit by the low sun, creating this fine late evening atmosphere...
Fine deatils and a well balanced composition, and drilling platforms are a rare sight in TE!
