Photographer’s Note
Bodø small boat port
Bodø is the capital of Nordland, and its main city, just north of polar circle. It's also the terminus of the railway line Nordlandbanen, between Hell (just outside Trondheim) and Bodø. With its 694 km, it's the longest railway line in Norway. Bodø is also one of the gate to Lofoten, by boat to Moskenes or Svolvær.
These two houses are the lighthouse of Nyholmen, an small island just outside the port of Bodø. It was built in 1875 and is a classic subject of photography. It has not been in use since 1907.
Historic note:
Bodø was almost completely destroyed by an attack of Luftwaffe in 1940 during WWII. 3500 of 6000 inhabitants lost their house. There was then an acute lack of housing. The swedish government helped to built new houses in winter 1941, a quarter that is still namned Svenskebyen, the swedish city.

Sam, fantastic composition. Saturated colors, lots of depth to the shot and good dof, and the foreground boat is brilliant, great capture.
