Continuing North from Trondheim, the Hurtigruten route goes through the narrow passage of the Stokksundet.
It's hard to imagine that there is a passage after the bridge, the rocks are so close together. Well, there is a passage, and the boat will make a right-angle turn to the left, in a passage which is less than a 100m wide. The passage is very narrow, and you see it only at the last moment. To warn the boats that might be coming from the opposite direction, the MS Lofoten will ring (is that the right word?) her horn under the bridge.

[Zoom out the Google Map to see the location. The passage is just on the left after the point. There is no bridge at this location on the map, but I'm pretty sure this is where we were, so I guess the bridge is more recent than the map picture!]

Sophie, strong colors, and the bridge adds to a general rough nature image of the photo.
Nice job!

Hello Sophie.
Very nice fjord photo.
Composition looks good, although if possible I would have used a wideangle lens to get the entire bridnge into view.
Colours look good, but seems to be a bit supressed but it works.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Sophie
This is the favourite leg for me traveling with the Hurtigruten out of Trondheim. First the long stretch out of the fjord and along the coast and then the very narrow Stokksundet. Top weather for you to make this compo as the ship passes under this bridge. Nice one.

Bonjour Sophie,

Very good composition Sophie, And what a stunning bridge. The fiord looks cold, and I can see the snow on the far hills.
I like your POV standing on the side of the bridge and looking across the side of the front bow. Well done, thank you.
Maybe the word is 'toot' or 'blow' her horn!!

Hi Sophie. A nice composition for this photo that conveys well what it is like to travel on this boat, by the way in which you included the foreground detail of the vessel and have it point towards the fine landscape in the background. The span of the bridge delivers a good diagonal device to further structure the frame. Nice rendition of the Velvia colors in a favorable setting with the sunlight.

Looks like a great trip, rather large boat for you here. Good dynamic line from the bridge. Great contrast from the film here,.

Bien vu!

Hi Sophie, the full density of the blue hues and the sweeping curve of the bridge makes this a fascinating capture. The inclusion of the well defined lines of the MS Lofoten introduces a nice industrial accent. Very nice.
Have a nice weekend,
Bert

Hi Sophie,
Beautiful deep blue image of this bridge and boat. (B&B see also Oochappan with Boats and Bicycles in Delfshaven).

Hello,
