Photographer’s Note
This pictures has been taken in near Tana Bru, in Finmark, Northern Norway and tell us about what the landscape looked like 20000 years ago...
This "layer cake" is due to the tide water...Indeed 20000yrs ago, when the scnadinavian ice-sheet retreated, the fjord was filled by seawater and the tide deposited a layer cake of fine and coarse grained sand....If you check closely, you can even see hourly variations in tide records...You can count the time passing 20000yrs ago...
Don't you think geology is exciting...??!!?
