Sun and shadow over Altafjord Photo

Photographer’s Note

Still on the E6, still going North. We are in Finnmark now and driving along the Altafjord. During WW II this was the refuge of the Tirpitz.
We are approaching Alta and its famous rock carvings (an example in ws).
Nous suivons toujours la E6. Nous sommes dans le Finnmark et suivons les rives de l'Altafjord. Alta et ses peintures rupestres n'est plus tellement loin.

Hello John,

I notice this was taken a couple of days before the salmon season starting June 1, and the Alta river is one of the best in Norway!
The naked landscape is amazing as the tree line is at 0 m this far North...
Well framed composition, where the backlight makes snow and sea shimmer!

This glittering watersurface is very appealing here. What a wonderful and near to nature landscape which - I think - makes men somehow humble ...
The photo in ws nearly is too good to be shown "only" in ws. A really impressive contribution to TE. This must have been THE JOURNEY of your life.

Hello John,
at a first glance in thumnails version the sharpening seemed to me a bit exaggerated: I was wrong! The surface of the see is simply stunning and so the snowy mountains in the background. This has to be a great place to see with the "right weather". Thanks for posting, Dario.
