Photographer’s Note

My favourite part of almost 100 km from Skaidi to Alta, you can see only reindeer here, sometimes a few cars:)
We were driving along Finnmarksvidda (the Finnmark plateau; Finnmark highland) which is Norway's largest mountain plateau, with an area greater than 22,000 km². It lies at 300-500 meters above sea level. Approximately 36% of Finnmark county lies in the Finnmarksvidda. From Alta in the west to Varangerhalvøya in the east is over 400 km, and from north to south it is at least that long, and the plateau extends into Finland.

The plateau includes extensive birch woods, pine barrens, bogs and glacially formed lakes. Finnmarksvidda is situated north of the Arctic Circle and is best known as the land of the Sami people and their reindeer herds. The Sami used to live as nomads and in the middle of the tundra you will find their shelters which are still in use in winter time when the herder is looking after the reindeer herds.

O kurka!! To chyba najlepsze w Twojej galerii. Prostota, ktora wgniata w fotel. Bylem w podobnym miejscu w Norwegii. Nie masz pojecia, jakie poredkosci rozwijalismy samochodami na tych waskich, ale komfortowych drozkach. Teraz wiem, ze to szczyt glupoty, ale wtedy....nic sie nie liczylo. To byly czasy.

Hi Gosia,

A strange intrusion of man-made road into wide open nature. Nice perspective looking straight down the road - the bumps show how much variation there is in the landscape that at first glance looks so uniform.

Hello Gosia,

This is a fine frame from Finnmarksvidda, capturing some of the important essentials in this landscape!
Remaining snow as late as middle of July, lack of vegetation of more that 50 cm, huge plains without sign of people...
Well framed with a good lead-in, great feeling of depth!

Hello Gosia. A scene as in a film. Apparently in endless running roads are an interesting thing. We ask ourselves, where the road goes, - the goal, the cause etc. For me it is a photo worth seeing. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Robi wrażenie. Ale też nasuwa myśl, że ta droga jest jak blizna w powierzchni ziemi; blizna z trudem się gojąca, zarastająca. Ale bo ja może mam jakieś zawodowe zboczenie ;)) Fajne ujęcie.

Bardzo ladna kompozycja i pomysl. Uwielbiam kompozycje z droga, nawet bardziej niz z zurawiami.
Ale bardzo szkoda ze tyle szumow. Szcegolnie na horyzoncie.

Kto by to pomyslal, ze w Norwegii moze byc tak dlugo na wprost. Piekna falista szosa z wycieniowanymi poboczami.Fajne kolory.

Czesc Gosia!

Wow! Bardzo fajny klimat, tajemniczy, mistyczny, filmowy udalo sie tu stworzyc. Lubie takie "fotografie drogie" (tak jak i kino drogi). Mialem okazje poruszac sie podobna autostrada w Stanach (Interstate 45 w Utah i Arizonie - nazywana najbardziej samotna autostrada na swiecie), tyle ze tam okolice byly bardziej pustynne, chociaz tez gorzyste.
