Sunrise over Magerøya

View from the deck of the Coastal Steamer Richard With (Hurtigruten) during its call in the port of Honningsvåg, in the middle of mars. The sun was rising, creating a wonderful pink light. The mountain in the background is Steinviknæringen, 275 moh.
The Finnmark is the northern state of continental Norway and is situated between 68.50° and 71° North. The main cities are Alta, Hammerfest and Kirkenes. Honningsvåg, on the Magerøya Island is the northern city in Europe. The North cape 71°10 N, is situated on this island.

Hi Samuel,
Beautiful photo, great composition with the boat excellent placed in the frame which really shows the scale of this huge landscape. But even more stunning light in the sky that really lifts this picture to a higher level.

Hi Samuel!
It looks like the horizon is a bit tilted,but anyway,it`s a great shot and composition with the boat at the perfect position.I like a lot the contrast between the snow covereded mountans and the deep blue tones of the sea and the nice pink tones in the sky.

So far, this is best picture of the day. The three different levels of colour make this a superb composition. And the boat adds the necessary scale to understand the scenery. The pink sky behind the snow covered mountains is fantastic and gives a huge sense of depth. I love it.

Wow, superb dawn lights, and very good exposition.
The boat fits just perfectly in the composition, well lighted and sharp.
the famous Cape North heh? Quite lucky to go there ;)
I read a book a few months ago by Mike Horn, describing how he started right there for his round trip along the arctic circle using no engine.

I just love it! The dark blue sea, the mountains covered by the white snow, but still showing some dark rocks and, adding a final touch to all of that... the pinkish sky... wow!
What a view! Great POV, composition and colors!
Last but not least... the boat so we can kind of measure the size of everything!
