Photographer’s Note

somewhere on the road...

This shot was taken somewhere around Honningsvaag (I've searched on internet roadmaps to find some useful information)... The only thing I know is that it was taken on the way from Nordkapp back... home?? In the workshop I post the prove that we were there ;))

From a series... Direction >>> Nordkapp
I've recovered some negatives from 10 years ago and scaned them in a photo lab. Don't think to make a travelogue because I know only aproximative where I was driving ;))

Pictures were taken with borrowed P&S camera Olympus Myu on just normal 200 ISO Fuji film.

Zanimiva.Pa si jih jedel tudi?
Meni bolj izgledajo,kot turistična znamenitost.
Kolikor vem tudi hrvati imajo posušene ribe in so specialiteta.Vsaj drage so kot specialiteta.

I can smell the fish.....
Good shot of this construction to dry the fish and funny with the diagonal of the flags.
Is Stockfisch (same as in German)a usual word in Norway`s language or is it written for German tourists?

Flags of the world and dried fish; a strange combination!
It's made for quite a striking and interesting image though, and I like how the line of flags cuts diagonally through the frame and across the strong horizontals of the fish rack.
A fun and quirky image Tomi, I like it.

A strange, unusual yet funny & interesting sight! the flags add a nice splash of colour against the grey sky in the background.

Interesting to see all those colored flags hanging in front of the drying fish. There is a rythem here that I like, coupled with the interesting geometry caused by the diagonals of the flags and hanging line. Nice colors in that normal Fugi film.

Hehe a very nice title goes with this graphically pleasing seaboard pic, Tomi. The combination of these neatly hanged stockfish and the diagonal of flags makes this one.

Hi Tomi,

Also I can see the Belgian flag at the diagontal line, this is a daily life picture, fortunately I can the smells here not host. Also here in Belgium speak one of stockfish.

Don't quite know what to say about this... The photograph is fine, but the subject is strange to say the least!
I really hope no one thinks production of dried fish (stockfish) happens like this, hehehe...

I like the repetitive element of all the stockfish. The flags in front work really nice and give an extra festive mood to the picture. The composition is also good. Well done!

Hi Tomi,
I can smell the fish from here...A colourful display, with the flags combining with the fish rack to create quite a conversation piece. I like your framing of this difficult but interesting scene, with the little rowboat nicely anchoring the frame in the foreground. Remarkable clarity given the vintage of the scanned shot.
