Photographer’s Note
This is the statue of the first 'Prins van Oranje', one of Holland's former prince's. It's in the middle of a square aptly named 'Het Plein' (The square) in the royal city of The Hague. A lot of great architecture, some dating from the 'Golden Century', when the Dutch empire was spread across the world. To me this picture symnbolises the past, and the grey can perhaps represent the future of this tiny country; polluted, overcrowded, and a dwindling significance in the European union and the world. What do you think?
