Photographer’s Note
Unlike most of the beachs on the island of Saint Maarten, Cupecoy beach offers a dramatic rugged coastline. It is lined with beautiful rock formations and caves. It reminds me more of a beach in California than a Caribbean beach. Cupecoy has a bit rough waters, the wind however is blocked by the rocks.
FYI: That is the nearby volcanic island of Saba seen in the far distance(upper right).
On the repost the horizon was straightened.

Rob,
This is a nice shot from my favorite Caribbean island. The slightly off center positioning of the rocks is great with the sailboat and plane center perfectly behind them. Saba provides nice balance to the rock formation. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF. I have not been to Cupecoy beach so I guess on my next trip to St. Martin I will have to check it out.
TFS,
Asa

Hi Rob,
Very nice rocks, good colours with a strong blue, perfect timing with these vawes. Difficult access for this beach with all Hotels and privates beachs ... i have missed this one !
