[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Am Ufer eines inzwischen eingedeichten Wasserlaufes entstand im 10. Jahrhundert das Dorf Goes. Schon im 12. Jahrhundert wurden Märkte gehalten. Im Jahre 1405 bekam Goes die Jurisdiktion, d.h. das Recht der Bürger auf eigene Rechtsprechung; 1417 gewährte Jakoba von Bayern Goes das Recht, eine Stadtbefestigung zu bauen. Goes war damals wichtig wegen der Salzgewinnung und der Schifffahrt (es hatte einen Hafen). Im Jahre 1554 brannte die Stadt mit den vielen Holzhäusern nieder und wurde bald wieder aufgebaut. Im Achtzigjährigen Krieg fiel Goes schon 1577 in die Hände der aufständischen Holländer. Darauf wurden Festungsanlagen gebaut. Vom 17. Jahrhundert an war es wieder eine Marktstadt für die umliegenden Bauern, die im 19. Jahrhundert stark an Bedeutung verlor. Als 1868 der Bahnanschluss zustande kam, und vor allem als 1980 ein Industriegelände eröffnet wurde, trat wirtschaftlicher Fortschritt ein.

Very clean shot, I like the colors very much and the old traditional facade. Es sieht so aus, sie haben die Stadt wieder so schoen aufgebaut. Diese Gebaeude muessen von der Stadt geschuetzt sein, oder? Thanks for sharing...Alex

J'aime beaucoup la partie reflets de cette photo, elle fait un excellent premier plan pour ce paysage composé de maisons typiques de ce pays. Du travail bien fait, agréable à regarder.

Nice, sharp shot, I really like the reflection in the water.
Also, the orange color of the roofs really ads to the composition.

One of these lovely Zeelandse small cities in Netherland.
Very regular come I in this city, it's always pleasant.
Excellent composition and lovely real colours too.
I like the typical houses in background, lovely for look it.
