When daisies pied, and violets blue,
And lady-smocks all silver-white,
And cuckoo-buds of yellow hue
Do paint the meadows with delight,
The cuckoo then, on every tree,
Mocks married men, for thus sings he:
“Cuckoo!
Cuckoo, cuckoo!” O word of fear,
Unpleasing to a married ear.
When shepherds pipe on oaten straws,
And merry larks are ploughmen’s clocks,
When turtles tread, and rooks, and daws,
And maidens bleach their summer smocks,
The cuckoo then, on every tree,
Mocks married men, for thus sings he:
“Cuckoo!
Cuckoo, cuckoo!” O word of fear,
Unpleasing to a married ear.
Song, from Act V, Scene 2 of Love’s Labors Lost by William Shakespeare (1598)
Taken at the bulb fields of Noorwidjkerhout, near the famous Keukenhof garden. |

This POV is very good and the invitation for a walk is really present. I have visited, many years ago, a similar place in Holland (can not remember the name), and I was amazed by the beauty of those flower fields. You managed to obtain superb natural colours on the flowers and on the sky too. Well done.

Great shot.

hello Andrew,
the combination of vibrant pink and yellow flowers and clear blue sky is the essence of spring, at least as far as I'm concerned :) I like a lot the strong perspective, but I'd suggest more off-center composition, since right now the LEAST interesting element - the row between the flowers is in the very middle and therefore gets more attention that it should :) other than that (and I realise that it is a matter of personal preference) this is an excellent shot.
with best regards,
Kristine
