Three Bridges of Santiago Calatrava near Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport

The Lyre, the Lute and the Harp

Bridges

we live on an island fringed
with bridges, steel
things connecting us to other

islands and to the continent.
great bridges, famous ones,
complex works of engineering,

one next to the other, almost like roads
denying the beaches and shorelines.
from each window of our house

we see a different bridge,
in every direction there is water.
the roadways rise like vapor

from the spits of land and sway
in the air over water. from
our window we watch them rise,

steel light in the air, giving gently
to the wind. I give you these
bridges, love, so we can

explode towards the sky, the
two of us breathing together
like steel and water.

Bonjour Rob,

Groeten,
Lars

Hi Rob,
Superb geometric shot! Very good colours, sharpness and beautiful details. Well done.
All the best.

Beste Rob,

Prettig weekend,
John.

Hello Rob,
Great point of view to compose an architecture image...I like the form and the lines while I am try to imagine how is the point you take the shot;)

have a nice weekend,
Thomas

Hallo Rob,
I do not believe that any guessing about the content of this capture would have been successful. This good light and graphical effect could have been a lot of things I do not know. I was reminded to a rotary clothes drier.
Lieben Gruss, Ulf

Erg goed werk!
Goed weekend,
Bert

Very nice composition with the pilon, the wires and the side wall, and the shadow is a great addition.

All the best,

Emmanuel

Hi Rob

Good sharpness, colour & upward pov. I like the colour contrast, between the pale yellow cream & blue sky. Tfs!

Jacques

Even from the thumbnail I could guess that this was one of yours, fine graphics as usual, a more personal note, in addition to the song lyrics would be better.

Hello Rob,
excellent presentation of these bridges of Calatrava in one photo. The shot was captured with very nice graphistic way and at the some time a minimalistic one,the shapes of the bridges, .The verticals and horizontals lines make your capture 'particular'. The colors and the light are nice .Informative the poem of Jesse Weiner.Congratulations.

Have a nice day,Danos

I do like that kind of pov, that kind of abtraction. Simply striking and inspired.
And you had the best light you could have. Excellent.
