Les premières tulipes néerlandaises ont été plantées en 1594 par Carolus Clusius, responsable des jardins de l'Université de Leyde. L'ambassadeur d'Autriche lui avait donné une poignée de bulbes de tulipes qu'il avait rapportés de l'Empire ottoman, où il avait été en fonction. Les tulipes firent immédiatement sensation et devinrent bientôt un symbole de pouvoir et de prestige parmi les aristocrates néerlandais.
Aujourd'hui, la tulipe représente la première exportation de bulbes des Pays-Bas.
59% des fleurs coupées exportées dans le monde proviennent des Pays-Bas, ces exportations se faisant principalement vers l'Allemagne, le Royaume-Uni et la France.

Le plus gros établissement néerlandais de ventes aux enchères de fleurs est la Verenigde Bloemenveilingen Aalsmeer, une coopérative de 5.000 cultivateurs. Près de 14 millions de fleurs et 1,5 million de plantes sont négociées à l'occasion des enchères d'Aalsmeer tous les jours de la semaine. Le bâtiment qui abrite les ventes est lui-même équivalent en taille à 100 terrains de football.

The first Dutch ulips were planted in 1594 by Carolus Clusius, person in charge for the gardens of the University of Leyde. The ambassador of Austria had given him a handle of bulbs of tulips coming from the Othoman Empire, where it had been in function. The tulips created sensation immediately and became soon a symbol of being able and prestige among the Dutch aristocrats. Today, the tulip represents the first export of bulbs of the Netherlands. 59% of the cut flowers exported in the world come from the Netherlands, these exports being done mainly towards Germany, the United Kingdom and France.

The largest Dutch establishment of auction sales of flowers is Verenigde Bloemenveilingen Aalsmeer, a co-operative of 5.000 farmers. Nearly 14 million of flowers and 1,5 million of plants are negotiated during the biddings of Aalsmeer every day of the week. The building which shelters the sales is itself are equivalent to 100 football fields.

Une de mes fleurs préférées. Une photo très colorée et un pov très bien choisi. Le cadrage donne une vue très graphique. Bien vu!

Hello Corrine,
For a moment i thought you were early with this year flowers, but i see it's an image from alst year. Because of the late spring i think we have to wait till end of April and early May to see them here again. I never go to Lisse, i just search the fields way up noth from Lisse. Lisse is to crowdy and to touristic, but to my surprise i don't see a tourist here on your image amazing ;-)
The different layers here bring depth a a boost of colours through the photo. Great angle with the low horizon...very nice.

olá, beautiful photo. like the dutch windmills, tulips are tipical dutch simbols that always result in beautiful photos. although i have lived in holland for 6 mounths i didn't have the oportunity to see these fields of tulips. next time i will try to be in holland during spring! take care,

Nous avons aussi un petit festival de tulipes a Istanbul, mais cette année ayant quitté pour aller a Paris, j'ai manqué les nouvelles photos. Bonne fin de semaine - Izzet

wowwwwww..........une explosion impressionnante de couleurs et d'émotions! une composition excellente, très bien vue et réalisée.
Les tonalités contrastent parfaitement et le POV est très intéressant avec les tulipes en croisant l'image dans une diagonale.
