Photographer’s Note
Today I went for a walk at the Loonse en Drunense Duinen National Park. It was a cold, but nice day, and the views were also very nice. The park was partically white because of the snowfall last night. This tree caught my eye, because it stood alone on one of the dune hills.
From the internet:
This National Park contains the largest area of active shifting sands in western Europe. Here, in the dunes of Loon and Drunen, the shifting sands result in an ever-changing landscape. In contrast, south of the shifting sands is De Brand, an area of typical wet marsh woodland, reed vegetation and grasslands.
Park’s main features: Sand dunes and marshy woodland
Special flora: Morison’s spurry, grey hairgrass, sand sedge, sundew, wood anemone
Special fauna: American tre frog, nightjar, woodlark, natterjack, field crickets, maritime beetle, various types of bee and ichneumon fly
Recreational activities: Cycling, walking, mountain biking, horse riding, excursions
Area: 3,500 ha
Province: Noord-Brabant

Hi Nel,
Groeten,
Lars

Hello, Nel,
I love the simplicity of this shot. The bare tree, the snow and winter feeling of this shot is wonderful. Perfectly composed and cropped and I like the warm tones of the earth in contrast to the cooler colors around it. Very nice!! Thanks and warm regards,
Shelly

Hi Nel.
It's not so common to see these beautiful areas with snow... The place reminds me a little bit a visit I have made in the Hoge Veluwe park last year... The very soft colors are interesting and I like the beautiful contrast between the dark silhouette of the tree and the clear background.
Thanks for sharing.
