Photographer’s Note
This is a picture from my archives. I took this in December 2007, when I visited the Maasduinen National Park in Limburg.
From the internet:
De Maasduinen National Park stretches along the eastern bank of the River Maas in the municipalities of Bergen and Gennep in Noord-Limburg. The park has a varied landscape of broad-leaved woodland and conifers, sand dunes, bog pools and raised bog. The high river dunes, the longest and oldest in the Netherlands are one of the Park’s special attractions. During high water the Geldersche Niera canal resembles a frothing quick-flowing river. Erosion over the years has created a wide scoured-out riverbed.
