From 95 meters Photo

Photographer’s Note

I took this photo from the tower of the Dom church in Utrecht, also called the Cathedral of Saint Martin. The tower is 112,32 meters high and it is the highest church tower of the Netherlands. The photo is taken from 95 meters.

On the photo, you see one of the canals in Utrecht. The yellow and pink van is an ice cream van. In the right corner, you see an element of the church tower.

About the photo: I slightly cropped the photo, made some white spots darker, added quite lot of yellow (cause in reality the water was brown, not bluish like on the orignal photo), added some more contrasts and resized the photo

Nicely framed, showing wonderful perspectives. The gargoyle is a good addition.

a delightful view, I like the light arc formed by houses and the depth of the image, given by the gargoyle. Also PP is very well done.

Olá Stef, what a great vertigo POV, looking straight down to the roofs. The composition is very good with the curved line connecting the two oposite corners - the gargoyle and the façades along the canal. The ice cream van it's actually a good inclusion adding extra interest to the view.

I thought at first it was another view of the miniature city. The church tower certaily provides an excellent POV; a bird's eye view. I like the inclusion of the gargoyle: from here we can see its purpose as a drain. The DOF and focus are good. Your PP was successful as the colours seem very natural.

Hello Stef,

Op deze hoogte verkleinen de mensen zeer veel, maar wat mij in detail opvalt is de water spuwer in de vorm van een dierenkop.
De patriciërshuizen langs de rivier zijn zeer mooi weergegeven. Niet gemakkelijk een foto nemen op deze hoogte.
Goed foto werk.

Bonjour Stef,
je suis toujours impressionné par les vues en altitude car je sui un peu sujet au vertige et de ce fait elles me décoiffent.
La hauteur ici est bien rendu par un piqué presque vertical.
C'est net et parfait sur le plan technique.
Un peit plus pour cette gargouille qui surgit du coin.

Hej Stefan,
Was een enorme klim om op de Dom te komen, maar het was het uitzicht wel waard. Vooral deze foto's recht naar beneden zijn erg leuk met die grachtenpanden! In deze vind ik de waterspuwer ook erg goed. Dat Renault :-P ijsbusje is een leuk detail!
