Photographer’s Note
This is the "Koppelpoort".
The Koppelpoort is a medieval gate in the city wall of the Amersfoort, a town in the middle of the Netherlands. The Koppelpoort is contructed around 1425 and it is a combination of a land and water-gate.
The water on the foreground is called "Eem". If you don't have time to visit Amersfoort, look outsite the windows of the train, because the trains in Amersfoort pass along the Koppelpoort.
About the photo: I used a brigde as a stable stative. About the PP-work: I increased the contrasts a bit and I decreased the light somewhat. I made the photo smaller, but I decided not to sharpen the photo, because it became grainy. I didn't crop the photo, but maybe I should have rotated it a bit.

Hej Stefan,
Groeten,
Lars

Hi Stef,
A beautiful capture of this gate and its reflections on the water!
I like the way you managed to build the composition, so carefully done.
For me it's ok the no rotation, but always you resize you must apply some sharpening because the smaller image becomes a little soft automatically.
Well done and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

Hello Stefan,
This castle looks like the ones we see in fairy tales. Fine composition with a reflection and minimal sky. I like what you did with PP, and I do not see a need for rotation. Good one! Regards,

It looks like a very interesting place to visit. The colours and reflections in particular are wonderful. It's probably the tiny bricks and the trees which make the sharpening difficult. It looks fine on my screen. Have you tried sharpening only certain parts of an image? For instance the sky should always be excluded from any sharpening as there is nothing in the sky that needs to be sharp, and it can results in increasing noise. I sharpen on a separate layer and then you can erase anything you don't want sharp. That also has the advantage of using the eraser on low opacity and having reduced sharpening of some areas. You can also make selections and just sharpen those.

Hi Stef,
a very beautiful view you caught in a good TE spirit. The slightly moved reflections add some liveliness to te scene.
I think the sharpness is ok...

Hi Stef,
Wonderful composition. The use of the light, the colors are superb, but above all the reflections are just wondeful.
Best regards. Salvator.

Hoi Stef,

Hi Stef - beautiful castle, and the reflections double the pleasure, I don't think rotation would help because it would make the tower at right lean further, the stretch funcion in photoshop would be a better tool in correcting the lens distortion, I wanted to try a WS but couldn't save it by right-clicking for some reason, I've been having some computer problems, maybe that's why.
