Photographer’s Note
just a giraffe
but from the other side
This picture was taken in the zoo of Amsterdam (Artis)
I thought it would be funny to show a different side of the giraffe.
It’s funny that without seeing the whole animal you still know it’s a giraffe

A well cropped close up and that fur is very typical. No doubt about that this is a giraffe

this is great Ishai, very well seen, the cropping is nice and tight, snd the model shows itself from a good side :o) The wrinkels on it's skin look very soft. I love this idea! Great work.

Originale comme vue , c'est une tres bonne idée , du coup l'image de grace a son cadrage est vraiment insolite .

Yes, this is a unique angle. As you so rightly state, it's funny that without seeing the whole animal you know it's a giraffe. And that's what I like about it; it isn't the run-of-the-mill shot of the giraffe's head. Good effort. PS: I also like the texture of the animal's fur, which has a velvety look to it.

An original POV. Detail and sharpness are good. And of course it is immediately recognised as a giraffe.

Well done,

Thanks for the comments, perhaps we can get a collection of animal skins and textures. Sometimes the most interesting pictures of animals are not of it from top to bottom, but the little details. Perhaps that is like people to, when you see a person for the first time not so intersting, but when you get to know the details of them maybe there are some nice things to know.
I am wondering whether you can sharpen the image a little to bring out the texture of the hair more, and a giraffe is often a more red-brown than dark-brown (perhaps colour balance), but nice perspective all the same.
