Photographer’s Note
This is a new designed mowing machine to cut of the flowers. In earlier days they did it by hand with a knife.
It is the end of the tullip time in Holland. Today I went to family on the island Goeree Overflakkee. There are still some fields and enough to shoot nice pics. I would like to show yopu some of the nice ones. Within a week I expect all flowers all chopped off.

On trekearth I have a special theme with more tulips of last years. Duth tulips
yellow tulips with windmills

About the photo : excellent framing, beautiful bright colors and an interesting subject.

Hi Hendrik
Why do they mow away the tulips? Seems a shame to remove these beautiful flowers. Does this mean that springtime is already over? This is a lovely shot of the vast fields, with nice perspective and colour, and tells a good story too.

Hi Hendrik,
I like this photo, it looks like a really old photo with the strong contrast, somewhat washed out colors (but still very strong). But I think it's the composition and the subject that remind the most of old photos, it has that romantic touch. It's like: "here's the farmer who's helping our country become richer", sort of..

/Simon
