| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A small mini-serie inside this travelogue. Being in Amsterdam during Sail 1990, we learned about the building of the replica of a Dutch India merchant ship of the 17th century, the Batavia. The building site was in Lelystad, a little town on a modern polder not very far from Amsterdam. Here are some of the pictures I took there. There is an interesting article in Wikipedia about the ship following this link : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batavia_(ship)

Hi Emmanuel,
A great perspective and POV down the length of the ship.I certainly haven't had the opportunity to see such an impressive ship in the making.I like all the angles and lines the wooden planks make...wating to see the workshops.Take care and TFS.
Regards, David
Hi Emmanuel, A very well focused shot indeed, the depth is excellent & the detail superb, the grain in the wood & the texture looks fabulous, you have chosen a great POV & the photo is well composed, wonderful light & colours, kind regards Wilson. PS great note.
Salut Emmanuel, vue intéressante de cette réplique en construction. Amitiés.

Hi Emmanuel,
What a lovely sharpness and clarity, depth and perspective are very lovely, also the construction of the boat are very beautiful.
Merci pour le partage.
Amitiés,
John.
Hello Emmanuel,
Interesting take with the repairal of this boat. The details and textures of this mast on foreground adds a lot to the composition as the wooden deck leading the eyes thru the photo. I remember seing some boats repairals like this one on the Viana do Castelo shipyards here in Portugal and it seems so nice to recreate this old 'warriors' from the sea.
Cheers.

Hej Emmanuel,
Very interesting shot of the rebuilding of this old VOC-ship. There's a nice kind of perspective towards the end of the ship. The mast is well placed, off-centred in the foreground. The (sun-)light is pleasing as well. Good shot, thanks for sharing!
Hilsen,
Lars

Hi Emmanuel.
Maybe with more contrast the photo could be better.
Anyway, nowadays it looks a good picture.
Thanks for sharing.
