Photographer’s Note
On an Amsterdam bridge......panning the passing cycle traffic...amazed at the two, three, four and even six wheeled traffic which passes by....in all shapes and sizes, configurations and cultures. The dignity ...and sometimes, sense of aloofness, which comes with these Dutch bikes which force a very upright posture is something I very much like in a visual sense.
This woman won the sartorial elegance prize out of all the people who passed by.

You should have whistled here! :) If only she looked towards you... Just like your other cycling panning shot. I prefer the other. Forgive the comparison, but when you have a shot like the previous one it's impossible not to set a benchmark. I don't like the b&w here. I have a problem with gray backgrounds and this one is too gray for me. A full smile for the fantastic technique.

Well if they ever made the movie 'Back to the Future' when film first came out, this would have been one of the scenes.
Love the clothing shes in, a very Mary Poppins feel to it.

I see, the past is on the right (where she's coming from), the future on the left. Right?

Splendid "street life" photo. Amazing blur of the background and superb silhouette of a cyclist. Amazing clothes, too. B&W works here very well.

Hi Kev, I ve never seen a bicycle like that in Japan. Anyways her fashion is so unique and that draws everybody's attention for sure, not only on TE but also in her city as well. Unique people in everyday life.. that's really nice capture, I like it.

She surely is an interesting character and your shot is marvellous in blurring all around which sets her off so beautifully and majestically against the lovely backdrop. I also love these more feminine bikes, the kind of WW2 bicycle-feel about them, and the leisurely pace they are meant for. Gorgeous work, again, my dear friend. When we meet one day, I would like you to introduce me to the art of perfect panning! :-)
Into my favs.

Hi Kev, excellent panning shot! You're a real master of that, and in Amsterdam you can really find great subjects for that as well. This is a wonderful colourful lady out on her fancy bike. Amsterdam is full of those kind of people, Rotterdam is quite different in that respect. Rotterdam is a city of workers, like me ;-((
Hope you are well.

I like the blurry wheels of the other bikes in background. I like also the texture of the street pavements. Very clean panning. Original elegance too, I agree.

Good evening Kev, an excellent panning shot, riding along so elegantly on her vintage bike, as Rinie said very typical for Amsterdam. In Rotterdam we only get mad, red haired women riding at speeds that could kill:)

Hola Kev:
Excellent example of panning photo, the good thing about then is that is a great way to concentrate our regard on a subject, like this old lady looking like a relative of the last emperor of China.
Take care
PS: What about Madrid? Let us know.

Hi Kev,
The cycle of stylish woman is also chic, exactly the sartorial elegance prize. You have got the wonderful panning shot selecting an appropriate shutter speed, was it 1/15? This cool shot had been hidden in the favorite of my browser for a long time.
Best wishes, Hisashi
