This picture was taken in the forest in Assel near by the city of Apeldoorn, wich is situated on the Veluwe.
The veluwe is the largest layer country nature area of North West Europe, and measures around 100,000 hectares.

Ik was in Nederland (Hengelo, Ov.) in the winter of 1989/90 and I didn't see such amount of snow. I guess it was a warm winter.
I like your foto, with the white road around the dark trees. Maybe it needs more contrast.
