The first shot I share taken with my new lens, which I bought a few weeks ago. It's the Sigma 10-20mm EX DC (without HSM!!)
I wanted more wide angle, now I have it! I'm really happy with that..now the hunt for good subjects to catch starts.
I have not had a lot of oppurtunities to go out for shooting and if I did, I returned with shots I didn't felt satisfied with. Went out at a misty night with this lens a while ago, but I'm still hesitating to post those nightshots..they remain very dark ;)
I remaining very busy with my study unfortunatly..but it has to be done..hope for better photography times soon.

Anyhow I felt it was about time to show a photo I took with this new lens.

I've taken this cliche sunset shot from one of the windows in my room (I have 3).
Here the sun sets behind the hospital..which is also the university where I study!

20mm, F22, 1/40th, ISO-200, Pattern Metering.

P.s you can see where I live in the map info!
The hospital is located slightly southwest from my location (ofcourse..as that's where the sun sets in the winter..here..)
Hope you like the shot!..although it's another sunset ;)
Have a nice week!

Hi Emiel

Congrats for your new lens. Looks fine.

Excellent soft colors and low lighting. This sky is marvelous! Be well.

Hi Emiel,

although I was a bit against "sunrise" and "sunset" photos on this site before (although I love these colorful sky moods), I now think that we could also learn something from them. For example: we see that the area where you live is rather flat (no mountain sillhouette or something like that). I think these things are even better "visible" at sunset (or sunrise)... because everything except the sky is black. And I like, that really EVERYTHING is black (and not dark grey, like in many other photos on this site).

Emiel,

it is hard to write a critique when you are steaming with jealousy over somebody else's new wide angle lens.

well done sunset .. and the best part of it for me is your wonderful control of the sun and all that brightness ..

hope you find time to have fun with the new lens.

take care,

John

Hi, Emiel. Congrats for your new gear, I'm sure we'll be gifted with more impressive skies like these or vast landscapes shot with this wide-angle.
Very good colors and, of course, DOF... ;o)

HI Emiel,
a pleasant sky tones and the sun is well placed on the photo...well done!!!
best regards,

Hello Emiel,
This fine sunrise is well exposed!
The pleasant thin veil of clouds adds patterns to the sky, and the silhouetted ground balance the composition nicely!
