Photographer’s Note
This is one of the older scans that I recently found back.
It is a picture taken from the top floor of the building where I used to work in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
I worked in shifts in an IT/Multi-platform environment, and I had my camera and tripod with me the night shift prior to my last official working day. Just for documentary purposes, of my last month living in the Netherlands before I would emigrate to Sweden.
These night shifts started at 23:00hrs and ended at 07:00hrs. Around 05:30 in the morning I went up to the top floor and I picked out a staircase from where I could look over Eindhoven.
That morning, facing east, up there in that staircase, I spent quite some time musing and pondering over my past behind me and the challenges ahead of me...

Very beautiful. I love the soft colours and the mist. I love those moments, early in the morning when the whole world is asleep and all quiet. You can almost feel like you are the last person on earth.
You have captured this in the image.
Well done.

Excellent city landscape. Beuatiful colors and soft shapes. Especially those two cranes surrounded by softness look great. Very-very well done, Edwin.

And you were right to look for those.. It's very beautiful. The colors of the sky are simply wonderful. The mist over the city contribute a lot to make this shoot a classic.

Crazy! That's a kind of sky and myst you would imagine finding in a fantasy movie but the cranes and the buildings are here to remind you the reality.
Excellent.

Fabulous light! I think the only good side effect of pollution is the way it looks when dawn and dusk light slides through it. Beautiful scene.

wow, this is very nice, i love those "foggy" colors and those cranes and buildings at the bottom - great contrast with this soft sky, very nice, moody!

Very nice effect. Is that a zombie I can see appearing out the gloom in the bottom right

Wonderful colors and the sky and a very nice haze on the city. The cranes and the ligt in a very far window really make this shot, in addition to the amazing sky. A very good shot, Edwin.

ahh, sentimental journey! A bit homesick when you see this?
It's funny that the view is as misty as you must have felt!
But, there's also a glow on the horizon, meaning promising things about to happen right?! ;-)
It's a great capture, soft colours are realy beautiful!

Absolutely fascinating sky, not to mention the overall feel of the shot. This is just asking to be used on a cover for some cyberpunk book or film noir VHS/DVD.
