Photographer’s Note

It is a grey December Monday afternoon... very windy, the trees are almost bare, low clouds are marching across the sky... and I'm remembering summer...

North Sea coast at Egmond aan Zee, Netherlands. Mid-June, around 22.00. A simple sunset.

A Simple Sunset can be..!...Beautiful sky and pretty colours.
Pretty diffèrence with the blue of the sky and the colors yellow in bottom of image. I like much. Very nice shot..!

a very beautiful sunset shot. Its simple, but theres a charm in this moment. Compositonally really nice, the large sky's gradiation of colors and neat patterrns, the tiny yrt not insignificant life on the beach. Fantastic.

A simple, but very effective sunset Alexander!

The colour shifts from top to bottom are really nice. The low contrast of the shoreline figures works well

Hallo Alexander,

Bij dergelijke zomeravonden kan men inderdaad mooie zonsondergangen fotograferen, wel op het juiste moment en de juisteplaats aanwezig zijn zoals bij deze foto, de kleuren en de samstelling is zeer leuk, u koos voor een vertikaal frame en bij deze lukt dit opperbest.
Prachtige zomer foto.

I'm going to be annoyingly pedantic here, but the curvilinear distortion on the surface of the sea bothers me a bit here. Once spotted, it's impossible to ignore, and does spoil this otherwise wonderful shot a little.
Never mind, this is great. Allowing the sky to dominate the composition to such a large extent has worked well, and the light and colours are wonderful. I like especially how you included the figures on the beach, and the evening sky is wonderfully mirrored in the water in the foreground.

Hallo Alexander,
I worship sunsettings. To observe this occurrence I always felt the surprise with the otherness of every next spectacle. Every sunsetting as if simple, Al is only semblance. Both the sunsetting how and his east have an invaluable meaning for all what lives on our earth. Beautiful is this picture, very to me pleases the paling blue and the pink horizon. One scents coming silence. Did you notice that the sunsetting was a low occurrence, and the sunrise greeted is a joyful noise of birds? The very nice quality of the photo, the excellent sharpness, superbly replete colours, nice framing.

Prachtige lucht bij deze zonsondergang. Het vertikale formaat is iterst geschikt. Blij een spatje zon te zien, hier regent het zonder ophouden.

Hi Alexander,
Yep, een simple sunset, maar die heb je in alle maten en uitvoeringen en deze mag ik best wel zien. Aangezien je de horizon laag gehouden hebt blijft er een mooie diep blauwe lucht over waar ook nog van alles gebeurd (vliegtuig) en de pier met mensen geeft net dat beetje extra wat hij nodig heeft.

Such a framing could result from the inspiration of a number of our friends here, when I saw it I spontaneously thought of a Paolade. Color set is nice and the tiny yet visible three silhouettes are good eye catchers, the overall resulting impression is space considering how the people are tiny.

great reflections in the 'little sea' like my youngest calls such a pool.
Interesting vertical projection with the areoplane stripe, You could haven chosen a panoramivc view too.

Hi Alexander. I think that for sunsets it is always important to have some further interest on top of the sheer spectacle of colors and light. Your photo manages to deliver this by including the people silhouettes and the reflections of the red portions in the foreground. Good use of the vertical format to emphasize the magnificence of the scene (and to include the airplane trace at the very top). Nice shot.

Oh, for those balmy, warm summer days. You have captured the spirit of that season well here, and I like the placement of the beach walkers along the shore. The tidal pool with its reflections further enhances, and the proportion of land to sky is well thought out and presented. Very fine work, Alexander...later.

un coucher de soleil qui tire sa beauté de sa simplcité, l'homme n'intervient pas là derrière, c'est la nature seule qui joue.
Nous, on peut juste l'admirer et le photographier, ce que tu as fait de manière parfaite ici, en incluant la plage, k'eau et un peu de vie.

A simple sunset but a fantastic shot, Alexander. I like the huge space of blue sky aqbove all the fire. A beautiful mixture of cold/warm colors. I also like the reflection in the puddle and the human silhouettes on the beach. A very very nice shot.
