Photographer’s Note
De Nachtwacht (The Nightwatch)
As some of you know, Amsterdam is my beloved city and therefore I like to continue my Amsterdam Scenes, hope you like it (again)....
Here you see a well-known scene, I think. Everyone in the world knows "De Nachtwacht" painted by our most famous artist Rembrandt (van Rijn).
The original painting can be seen in the Rijksmuseum and because of the 400th birthday of Rembrandt there are many expositions in the city.
On the Rembrandtplein (plein = square) now you can find the Nachtwacht in statues made by the Russian artists Alexander Taratynov en Mikhail Dronov.
A lot of internet-sites about Rembrandt and the Nachtwacht can be found on the web.
In the background you can see the master looking over his own work.....
I also made a WS, where you can see the whole group and a WS with a billboard on the train-station in my village, that's a funny one, please have a look, you surely will like it:-))

Hi Hans
Great to see a shot from you - Yes I know this famous paintwork from the equal famous artist.
Indeed Amsterdam a place to visit - too bad I didn't got by at my visit to Netherlands. Amazing to watch the paintwork as sculptures - you did a fine job giving us this close up - thanks for the WS as well.

Hej Hans,
Mooi werk!
Groeten,
Lars

Just like tin soldiers, and with the memeory of the great scene, so you catch well here and have a good light. The only thing you cannot get its the smoke aspect the original picture had for century of storage at the wrong place :-))
I have been to the whole scene in WS this is a very good representation made by these artists.

Dag Hans,
John.

Hi Hans,
I like very much this kind of Artwork. It is full of life. Nice composition and straight framing to give more value to the statues.

Hi Hans,
A great photo... A perfect work from both art and the photography point of view. It looks like the painting became alive... The only thing missing is the colors...
Well done Hans... Thanks for sharing...

Bonjour mon bon ami Hans,

Hi Hans.
I had the chance to see the Nightwatch and other Rembrandt outstanding paintings at the Rijkmuseum a few months ago, and I kept a fascinated feeling about these masterpieces. In fact it's not so much the great technicity that the artist used that amazed me than his snese of humor that you can note in small details of most of its works. For sure I will have to visit the Rembrandtplein...
Thanks for sharing.
