Celebrating the meeting we took the spido, a boat that gives us an interesting ride throught the big river of Rotterdam. Having no river culture where I live, I´m always very attracked by giant rivers. Among the most interesting things I´ve seen during the trip there were this containers, stored in such a way that created kind of strange landscape, like a new way of arquitecture.
Yesterday I mentioned a movie Metropolis. Today I´ll mention another masterpiece: The man without a past an optimistic tale of great director Aki Kaurismaki. In this movie, some people surviving in containers while facing depression times they find the reason to live thanks to love and friendship.
So let´s celebrate mankind, as we did at the TE meeting in Rotterdam by knowing new people that maybe become friends, but at least we were able to enjoy our time together thanks to photography.

PS: More paparazzi can be found at the new WS.

Really lovely. I was think about this idea, but never quite saw how to do it. The thing I like about this is the arrangement of containers into red and blue sections.

Contemporaneidad. Ahora me ha salido la palabra.

Un saludo.

A graphical pattern of colored containers, again a so typical presence here of an isolated detail that marks Rotterdam fully and I like the extension in your note making me think how many fugitives tried to escape horor by this mean.
A fine thought aside this graphical, the power of TE giving a shot more depht related to human kind and indeed sharing nice moments with a laugh brings people very close to each others.
Thanks to remind us Miguel.

What beauty you can make of such uggly containers :)
Great graphical shot from my country Miguel

Hi Miguel,
good idea of shot and your note is interesting, but the colors are not saturated enough and contrasted...
I tested a WS where I also slightly cropped your original composition.
What do you think?
Regards
philippe

Stacked like blocks of Lego - very interesting composition. Bold and fairly primary colours from this everyday sort of equipment looks great. Well done!

Containers, containers, good source of inspiration for photographs!
Colors and geometrical figures, almost a contemporain painting!

Bonjour Miguel
J'ai regardé le thème et cette image est une des plus originale. Faire de ces containers une oeuvre d'art graphique. C'est bien vu. Tout est bien symétrique.
Amicalement

I took pictures of the containers aswell, but it's difficult to make big chunky metal boxes look interesting, but cropping them this tightly is a good way to present them, very abstract.

Good showing of the container landscape, Miguel, resulting in an almost abstract result with this compelling array of patterns and textures. The precise verticals and horizontals enhance the rhythmic aspect of this composition, well seen.

I really like this view, I also tried to come up with something similar but not sure the results will be as nice (although I find the colors also slightly dull, from the light that day, and Philippe's WS is interesting).
I do appreciate the little bit of sky, as a sign of hope and life in this very industrialized, de-humanized landscape. This part of Rotterdam is too big to be human, it was both fascinating and scary.

I really appreciate also the way you write your notes, with a part of general knowledge and a part of your (and ours) human story. It was great meeting you!

Hola Miguel!

Bien vu!

heheh Miguel
are you sure you found where was the meeitng ? ;p
nice abstract shot Miguel

Hi Miquel

Good to see your well back in Spain. Yes this motif also amough mine - I better post one as well - Your right - its interesting to watch how the same object from the lens of different photographers - I like the mix of colours in this one - a good job.

Thanks for learning more about you in person - see you next time around.

Jeppe

Hi Miguel,
These containers indeed give a big amount of graphical abstractions. I also took some of these “paintings”. I like the picturesque approach in your WS. Just as I like the paparazzi shot. I do have a nice one with you and Isabel, but I’m out of WS at the moment so you have to wait for a moment.

Hello Miguel! Just like your previous picture you are offering us a full frame filling crowded shot with again a bit of sky in the right upper corner. I like that, it seems to allow a bit of fresh air to enter the picture. The port of Rotterdam is full of containers and I like your choice for this little area, because of the limited range of colours. It increases the abstract appearance of the scene.

Hola Miguel,
a good patchwork of shapes and colors, very representative of this huge harbour that is Rotterdam, the tight framing works well on such a subject, you might consider pushing up the contrast a bit.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Miguel
Where is the box in which Rinie lodged you ?
I like it, one would say a building set (lego)

Hola Miguel:

Paco

Ola Miguel, great and layered compo. I allways like the way containers make appealing graphical patterns and you used this very well. The escape-hatch is a nice conception. Great work & thanx!
Have a fine week,
Bert
