Photographer’s Note

This is a shot of the salt mines in Bonaire. I was really impressed by the pink color of the water and like the colors here, the blue sky inthe background and the snow white salt piles.

"Bonaire's old salt-mining industry has been re-activated in recent years. With a comfortably dry climate and steady trade winds (the very conditions that have made it a windsurfing mecca), Bonaire has long been recognized as an ideal locale for the production of salt. For over three centuries, the island's culture and prosperity was dependent upon this most important of the world's spices. Salt is still produced on Bonaire, though the stunning salt beds of Pekelmeer are also home to one of the hemisphere's great populations of flamingoes."

I love the different layers of colour in your shot. They are contrast nicely one against the other. Nicely composed with good diagonals.

I too wonder about that pink colour, its a very intersting layers of colours, Natures diversity is unbelievable

The contrast between the unusual pastel pink of the water and the blue sky with the white salt hills between makes this an interesting composition, Yvonne. I like the graphic effect of the layers too. There is a bit of noise in your image but the file size of 97kb was too small to try a workshop. It also looks a little tilted to the left - although that is difficult to determine without a true horizon. Cheers . . . David

Hello Yvonne, I find interesting the up part of this image, my opinion is the same of David (banyanman), I have tried to do a ws but your image is too small and compressed, however a good perspective and beautiful and interesting shot, I suggest you to try to elaborate the photo with more attention.
