Photographer’s Note
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Reflection is the abrupt change in direction of a wave front at an interface between two dissimilar media so that the wave front returns into the medium from which it originated. Common examples include the reflection of light, sound and water waves.
Reflection of light may be specular (that is, mirror-like) or diffuse (that is, not retaining the image, only the energy) depending on the nature of the interface. Whether the interfaces consists of dielectric-conductor or dielectric-dielectric, the phase of the reflected wave may or may not be inverted.
This was a little joke, but to be honest to you all, I like the joke very much. This is a photo turning on his head. I hope you like it to.

Mooi plaatje Jaap, grappig die omkering.
Je weet de plekjes wel te vinden. Mooie kleuren, vooral in het water.

Beautiful. This is really well done!!!
Given the subject, though, you might consider matching the top and bottom of the frame exactly. (Preferably, just to the top of the trees both in the original and in the reflection. If there's not enough space, then you could crop the top of the trees off the one side).

Hello Jaap,
When I first saw this photo, I've said to myself: "Wow, the reflection is so sharp, that I cant recognize, what is the top and what's the bottom"... And then I've read your note :-) A good joke and a good picture!
Thanks,
Marek

groeten,
Luc.

Hi Jaap, I guess we live in a reflection world. I enjoy the fun you have to turn the picture upside down. An almost perfect mirror image. I like the deep blue sky better, if I have to choose between these two sides. A very well taken fun image. Well done.
I have put this photo into the them “inverted reflections”.

Bonjour Jaap,
Superbe.
Daniel.

wow, very sharp photo with lots of detail. the reflection is perfect. there is a ghostly looking building on the left under the evergreen tree, but not in the reflection. I like how the sky is a dark blue but it's reflection is a lighter shade.

Good idea with the 180° rotation, Jaap - it amplifies the reflective effect even more than if you had shown it without this step, I think. The frame is a well-chosen one with the rural building surrounded by the trees, and the whole scene dipped into a fine, even warming, December light.

Hi Jaap
Brilliant shot. I was looking at it and thinking something looks a bit surreal, but can't put my finger on what. Then I read your note and understood that it's upside down. Excellent composition.
Well done

Hi Jaap. You know I was looking at this wondering if this was upside down. Follow TE user PJE does this once in a while too. I might have tried to get the trees in their entirety for pure symmetry. Excellent shot Jaap.

John.

Hi Jaap,
A superb image and very successful prank! Like Wes, I prefer the deeper blue sky. The rich hues and tones are amazing in the reflected area. Your tight cropping and framing enhances and ensures high impact. Well conceived and executed, Jaap.

Nice composition and the reflection works well. I'm intrigued as to why the reflected sky is so white, but it works all the same. The effect of the line of trees is impressive to. Good work. And thanks for 100.

Hej Jaap,

Zeer goed werk.

I was firstly annoyed by the position of the Horizon, underneath the water :-)), so I had to put the glasses on and read the note.; This is a very amazing one, and looking at without thinking of the technique and the nice joke is a good moment.. Quality, colors all is good.and a great place
I like it

hi Jaap, you have a wonderful collection of "reflection" photos, this is just as good as any other in your gallery but i suppose i'm going for this old hut here- it's fantastic. the reflection is unbelievably clear, and the tight cropping somehow fits here perfectly.

Great shot Jaap.
I like the way the branches appear to be the roots of the tree. A beautifully captured shot, so still. The image could be sharper, but as it stands is very nice.
See what you think of my recent reflection post, also my photos from Holland.
Have a nice day.
