Photographer’s Note

This is a wallpainting on an old house in Haarlem, the capital of the province of Noord-Holland. The city has about 150.000 inhabitants.

The text on the wall says: "Here lives short Anna, anno 1975". I don't now the who short Anna is, but the name of the street is Short Anna street. It is a very small and narrow street with lots of flowers and art galleries.

I had to postprocess this wall painting quite a lot. The colours where a bit dull, and especially the right was a bit dark and unsharp. I also had to change the perspective a bit. I will post the orginal, so you can see it.

Cette prise de vue est très originale et elle fait partie du patrimoine.
Je préfère ce genre de dessins "naïfs" à des tags !!!
Votre atelier est très réussi, les couleurs ont retrouvé leur éclat.

She sounds more like a character from a children's book like Mrs Pepperpot.
You PP worked a treat to liven up the colours on this one Stef.

Hi Stef,
A humorous and interesting shot of this mural. You did a great job of PP, as the original was much duller. You know, your PP got me thinking about how the restorers of old paintings must feel when they have eliminated the grit, grime and dirt from the ancient works and brought forth light and life once again. This is a very pleasing and uplifting shot. Well captured and all the best for 2006.

Je hebt Korte Anna aardig opgekalefaterd als ik naar het origineel kijk, het resultaat is in ieder geval kleurrijk! Ik kende dit straat niet, goed idee voor een foto.
