Bakernessergracht Photo

Photographer’s Note

Here is the Bakernessergracht (gracht=canal) in Haarlem, the city where I live. Haarlem has about 150.000 inhabitants and the city got cityrights in 1245. This canal is from the 14th century. I took this photo last september. Of course, the city looks a bit different now.

Hi Stef,
A very well composed shot. The foreground reflections and colour really enhance and lead the eye onward down the canal to the bridge and unusual building. The autumn colours are very much predominant. The people walking warm the shot. A very pleasant scene, well captured.

Halløjsa Stefan,
Mooie foto van Haarlem met die twee bekende huizen aan het Spaarne op de achtergrond. De herstkleuren staan er goed bij. Mooi werk.

Hey Stef. Those canals make for some great photo subjects, don't they? You had good timing to be there with a burst of fall color. I think the shot might need a small amount of rotation? Beautiful shot Stef!

Hej Stef, heerlijk Haarlems doorkijkje met veel diepte en heerlijke kleuren. Mooi ook zijn de twee transportmodi naast elkaar. Brengt weer oude beelden boven - Ik ben in de Bollenstreek opgegroeid en kwam daardoor wel eens in Haarlem, maar dat inmiddels erg lang geleden ;-) TFS en fijne week toegewenst!
