Photographer’s Note

At the edge of the village `S Heerenberg lies the impressive castle Huis Bergh.It´s one of the largest and most important castles of the Netherlands. The earliest building history goes back to the 11th century. During the times fires, wars,extensions and restorations changed the character from Huis Bergh from a mediaeval defence citadel to an impressive castle.

The second fine castle pic I've seen today - you and Norbert - wonderful autumn light and such a fine and contrasted definition - I love these old Dutch castles with their moats - i really like the long shadows of the trees cutting right across the frame - very nice!!

Zeer mooi panorama zicht, Hermann, met een grote verscheidenheid aan groen, water, gebouwen en blauwe lucht. Het standpunt is goed gekozen vanuit het struikgewas, wat een goede voorgrond geeft. De schaduwen en de wal leiden ons naar het kasteel en het verder gelegen kerkgebouw. Knap shot.

Bonjour mon ami Hermann,
L'angle est parfaitement choisi pour mettre en valeur ce château dont l'origine remonte au 11ème siècle. J'aime ces ombres qui s'allongent démesurément et qui semblent vouloir jouer avec la population au loin. L'ensemble est très agréable à regarder.
Très belle composition. Le premier plan donne une profondeur remarquable à l'ensemble.

Hallo Hermann,
In de loop der tijden heeft men meerdere barbaarse streken uit gehaald met kastelen en kerken, maar nu kunnen wij er even van genieten, en zeker als er een fotograaf zols u daar wat werk van maakt. Gisteren waren de luchten zeer perfect voor een prachtige te maken zoals deze hier. Diepte, kleur en samenstelling zijn zeer mooi Hermann.
Schitterend werk!

This is a beautiful castle with its towers and ditch. Good POV, colors and light. I like the big shadows. Good sharpness.

Hi Hermann, glorious light and tall shadows in this fine compositon with all those lovely old architecture! The foliage in the FG gives the feeling of having a stealthy peak at this stronghold. Lovely capture.

Hallo Hermann. Indeed some same thinking today with our postings - but what is more obvious these days than grab the camera and take advantage of the fine autumn light and weather. This is a well-made photo with the sneaky view through the branches, and towards the rich scene of castle, church and creek. Beautiful seasonal colors and a nice effect with the shadows.

Hello Hermann,

A very nice shot, framed marvelously by the trees. The sky is so clear and blue. The river adds a nice curve, and color. I also like the long shadows of the trees.

Excellent composition, with the cascade of green foliage in front giving way to the fields with long shadows pointing the way to the castles. The shot is very well balanced and gives a nice feeling. Well done!

Bonjour Hermann,
une composition très colorée, mais bien colorée, les teintes classiques de la naature sous le ciel bleu, avec ces couleurs de briques brunes.
Excellent POV et cadrage, le payasage est agréable à contempler.
