Photographer’s Note

In the Netherlands was the Queens Day yesterday.30th of April was the Birthday of the former Queen Juliana.Her doughter,todays Queen Beatrix,kept this day as Queens day.It was also her 25th anniversary of her accesion of the throne.In many places of the Netherlands were big party´s going on,obviously not here,-just the flags outside the houses and everybody was relaxing and takin´it easy.

This is great Hermann - such a wonderful contrast with Ninix's recent pic of Queens Day - great compositional position and a nice light - the signs and the flags working together is really good too! Have a good Sunday!

Hi Hermann, very nice one, good DoF.
I like the bicyclits in this empty street.,
I guess every one went to the parade, or the aubade (Had to sing early in the morning with our school when I was young).

Ha, beautiful composition you made here, Hermann. Great timing to have the guy cycling into the charming old road decorated with the Dutch flags (and a few no parking signs). Very good use of the telezoom to capture this one, and the colors are delightful, too.

Hi Hermann, It is a quiet day for the holiday in you picture. It looks that you were tailgate this biker. The environment is blurred and the bike and the biker are well focused. Nice shot.

Prachtige foto van deze man die straks de aubade moet dirigeren of het koekhappen moet leiden. Volgens mij is hij aan de late kant, want hij fietst veel te hard voor zo’n dikke man.

A quiet place indeed on a day like yesterday! On the places I've been there were many more people. But you captured this street very well! Even the road signs against the white wall create the Dutch tricolore! Good DoF!

Guten tag Hermann

I like the repetition of the tricolour flags of red white & blue. The diagonal of the signs in a line is a good add, as is the cyclist. Have a good weekend.

A fine tribute to your Queen and - I like atmosphere with a lonely cycelist - It seems all gone the centre to celebrate - I also like the way the signs seems to match the flags - Thanks Hermann - very well spotted and captured

Dag Hermann,
Het is mij gisteren opgevallen toen ik in Nederland aan het fietsen was, dat Koninginnendag met veel luister geviert werd, dit beeld kan niet Nederlandser zijn, een man met de fiets en de huizen allemaal bevlagd, en nog goede diepte ook.

Very nice daily life scene! The lonely biker seen by the back in such a joyful street it’s a big contrast. With so many flags it would be expected to see more people. Great sense of depth created by the DOF as well the lines in perspective. This one could work very well in noisy BW too.
